On 23 February 2024 the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia announced the third cycle of its Katapult accelerator — and Telmed was among the 23 selected startups.
An independent expert commission chose the cohort. Katapult had planned to take 15–20 startups that year; 23 made the cut, a record for the programme. In the Fund’s announcement, Telmed is described as a high-tech startup that produces digital products in teleradiology and telemedicine and makes radiology services available worldwide with just a few clicks.
What the programme brought
- Three months of intensive acceleration — workshops and work with a lead mentor, local mentors and subject-matter experts.
- Access to investors, ending with Demo Day on 22 May 2024, where the cohort’s startups presented to investors.
- Co-investment — Katapult startups that secured a qualified investment by 11 March 2025 could receive up to EUR 300,000 of additional support from the Innovation Fund.
The Innovation Fund supported Telmed twice: in 2022, when we were developing the platform with the support of the European Union through the Fund’s programmes, and in 2023 through Katapult. For us, Katapult was a chance to sharpen our story as “Radiology in the Cloud” in front of mentors and investors.
Katapult is implemented by the Innovation Fund with the World Bank, in collaboration with the Republic of Serbia and the European Union. It is financed by the Republic of Serbia through a EUR 7.7 million World Bank loan and by the European Union through a EUR 10 million grant, as part of the Serbia Accelerating Innovation and Growth Entrepreneurship Project (SAIGE).
